The pitch most VAs send gets ignored. Not because of qualifications, but because it is about the VA, not the business owner. Here is how to make it about them.
The Four Elements of a Pitch That Works
- A specific opening: Prove you are not mass-blasting by mentioning a detail about their company.
- Connection to their problem: Name a challenge common in their industry.
- A specific, brief offer: One service, one rate.
- One small ask: "Would it be worth a 15-minute call?"
"The perfect VA pitch makes the business owner feel understood — and then immediately presents a relevant solution."
The Subject Line
It has one job: get the email opened. Use short, personal lines like: "Quick question, [Name]" or "[Business Name] — inbox support". Avoid marketing copy.
Mistakes to Fix
- Too long: Keep it under 150 words.
- Starting with 'I': Rewrite it to start with something about them.
- Vague services: "Admin tasks" means nothing; be specific.
